Urban Adventures
Take a hike, literally. The Anacostia Tributary Trail System is so close to The Hotel at the University of Maryland, you can get some exercise, enjoy the fresh air, or pedal through one of the most densely populated urban watersheds in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Raft, kayak, or paddleboard the Potomac River or take a fun tour of the Washington D.C. monuments by water. Despite being near Baltimore, Annapolis, and D.C., you can still savor nature nearby The Hotel.
Wildlife
12,000 acres of land forest, meadows and wetlands are the best bet for bird watching. Take a tour with an expert at the Patuxent Research Reserve, a national wildlife refuge. Look out for the deep-forest Scarlet Tanager, a stocky songbird who is sure to belt out some beautiful ballads just for you.
Golf
Grab your clubs and get ready for a great round of golf. Tee off on the hilly, tree-lined University of Maryland Golf Course, or practice your put at the Paint Branch Golf Complex. No need for a mulligan as you’re sure to have a great game at any local golf course.
