How can I get an early check-in or late check-out?
Early arrival and late check-out is based on availability and may result in a charge depending on the time requested. Please call the hotel at 301-277-7777 on the day of arrival to inquire about the availability of rooms prior to the 4:00pm check-in time. For late check-out requests, contact the desk the day prior to check-out to request an extension beyond the 12:00pm check-out time.
What is the Minimum Age to reserve a room?
Guests must be 21 years or older. Valid picture ID is required upon check-in.
Is parking available?
We offer self-parking for guests of The Hotel, event attendees and restaurant patrons. The Hotel also offers monthly parking passes, which can be purchased online.
What is the Hotel’s ADA Policy?
ADA compliant guest rooms are available at our College Park, MD hotel and should be reserved in advance. Should you require an ADA room, please notify The Hotel at the University of Maryland or call 301-277-7777.
What are the dining options at the hotel?
GrillMarX is an upscale casual dining experience open daily from 11:00am to 10:00pm and 11:00pm on Friday and Saturdays. In room delivery is available.
Bagels ‘n Grinds serves all day breakfast and lunch options and is open daily from 7am until 2pm.
Potomac Pizza is a family friendly restaurant offering pizza, hamburgers, wings and a variety of menu items from 11:00am to 9:00pm daily. In room delivery is available.
Does the hotel have a lounge\bar onsite?
The Hotel Lobby Bar is available Sunday – Thursday from 4 – 10PM and Friday & Saturday from 4 – 11PM. Enjoy cocktails, specialties and food from our bar menu. Alcoholic beverage service is restricted to those 21 years or older. Valid identification must be presented when purchasing.
Does the hotel have a pool or gym?
The Hotel has a Spa, pool and fitness center located on the 4th floor.
Is smoking allowed?
The Hotel at the University of Maryland is 100% smoke free. There are designated smoking areas outside of the building. A $250 fee will be charged to the guest’s account should smoking occur anywhere inside The Hotel.
What is the hotel’s occupancy policy?
An extra person charge of $10.00 per person will apply if there are more than 2 adults (18 years or older) in the guest room. Rollaway beds are not permitted in guest rooms with two queen beds. There is a $15.00 fee per night for rollaway beds placed in guest rooms.
What is the hotel’s payment policy?
All guests must present a major credit card or debit card as guaranteed method of payment upon arrival. The credit/debit card presented will be authorized for the total amount of the guest’s stay plus an additional $50.00 per night for incidental charges. Nothing is charged to the credit/debit card until check-out. At check-out, the credit/debit card will be charged or the guest may pay cash for charges incurred. Authorized amounts may take up to 30 days after departure to be released by your bank or financial institution. The Hotel at the University of Maryland is not responsible for any resulting fees or charges.

Is the hotel pet-friendly?
The Hotel at the University of Maryland participates in the Southern PAWs (Pets Are Welcome) program. At this time, dogs are permitted up to 100 lb. with a maximum of two dogs per room. A non-refundable $75 pet fee will be charged (per stay). A waiver will be required at check-in and you will receive your PAWs welcome kit. To learn more, visit our PAWs page. What is the hotel’s cancellation policy for guestrooms?
Individual reservations made directly with the hotel or via our website can be modified or cancelled without penalty for cancellations received by 6pm (Eastern) 24-hours prior to arrival. Reservations that “no-show” or cancel after that time will be charged for one-night room plus tax. There are also special reservations including some advance purchase and package rates as well as special occasions that will have a different cancellation policy.
